Sclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating veins on the legs that are red, black or blue in color but are not bulging. A solution containing a numbing agent is injected into the veins with a very small thin needle. The injection of this special solution causes a gradual fading of the treated vessel. It usually takes between 2 to 8 sessions to get rid of the majority of the veins.
